Terms of service
The basis on which Bishop Removals provides its services. These terms sit alongside the written quote and booking confirmation for your move.
Quotes
We provide a written quote based on the information you give us. If the job on the day differs materially from what was described — significantly more to move, different access, or a changed destination — the quote may need to be revised. A quote remains open for the period stated on it (typically fourteen days) unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
Bookings & deposits
Your booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date with you in writing. Where a deposit is taken to hold a date, it is deducted from the final balance. A deposit is refundable if you cancel within fourteen days of paying it, provided that is well ahead of the booked move.
Cancellations & changes
Let us know as early as you can if you need to cancel or change your booking, and we'll do our best to help. Cancellations made very close to the booked date may incur a charge to cover the crew and vehicle reserved for you, as set out in your booking confirmation.
Storage
Where we store goods for you, they are held securely and inventoried. Storage charges and terms are set out in your storage agreement. Please don't store perishable, hazardous or illegal items, or anything irreplaceable that isn't separately insured.
Our responsibilities
We will carry out your move with reasonable care and skill, protect access and goods appropriately, and hold goods-in-transit and public liability insurance covering the job. Some items — cash, jewellery, important documents and irreplaceable items — are best carried by you personally, and we may ask you to do so.
Claims
If something is damaged in the course of the move, tell us as soon as you can and in any event within seven days, so we can inspect it and put things right under our insurance. Keep the item and its packaging where possible.
Payment
The balance is due on completion of the move unless we have agreed account terms with you in writing beforehand. For business accounts, invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice (typically fourteen days).
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Otherwise our liability for a move is as set out in your booking confirmation and our insurance cover.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
